I study the firm’s current strategy, identify strengths and recommend areas of improvement. Usually this is a short and quick engagement.

Though short, the audit studies deviations, if any, from organizational objectives.  To put it conversely, I study if the organizational objectives are aligned to the overall governance, risk management, stakeholder expectations and internal controls. I emphasise the self discipline essential to ensure that strategy audit remains relevant.

The audit typically follows a four step process: Reiterating the company’s long term goals and the means of achieving them; Prioritizing important initiatives; Putting in place Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Designing an operating strategy.
